Humans in the Loop (2024)
Aranya Sahay
Nehma, an Adivasi woman, begins interacting with Al while working in a remote data centre in Jharkhand. After enduring decades of name-calling and taunts rooted in deep-seated biases, she makes the difficult decision to separate from her partner and returns to her ancestral village with her children. To support her family, she takes on an unexpected role as a data labeller training Al models with the same patience and precision as a parent guiding a child. As she delves deeper into her work, Nehma begins to uncover the subtle yet persistent human biases embedded within Al systems.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film's director. Register at forms.gle/F9LdHzH7poNSHYVZA
