There are few films in the history of cinema which are not only remembered for what they achieved with their runtime, but also for how they made many filmmakers realise the power of cinema and rethink the possibilities with the medium. Vittorio De Sica's Bicycle Thieves may have been made more than seven decades ago in post-war Italy, but its relevance has never faded irrespective of time and geography.

There couldn't have been a better selection for Fillum's first self-hosted film screening, in association with Jugmug Art & Culture Project. The screening will be followed by a discussion on the film and new possibilities of community cinema experience.

We hope you will join us at the screening for Fillum's first steps of our journey towards facilitating a new culture of cinema viewing beyond multiplexes and OTTs, which isn't about 'consuming' cinema, but meaningfully experiencing and engaging with it.
