Can you write, shoot, edit, and premiere a film in just five hours?
Put your creativity and filmmaking skills to the test at the 5-Hour Filmmaking Challenge, an intensive, team-based competition where creativity matters more than budget. The theme will be revealed on the spot, and each team will have just five hours to transform an idea into a completed short film.
How It Works:
Team Formation: Teams will be formed by the organisers from among registered participants, one day before the event. The allocation will be based on participants’ skills and available equipment to ensure a balanced and collaborative experience.
Five Hours to Create: Each team must develop, shoot, and edit a short film within the allotted five hours.
Your Film Set: From the rooftop and amphitheatre to galleries, studios, dorm rooms, and other creative spaces, NIV Art Centre becomes your filmmaking playground.
Screening & Awards: The challenge concludes with a public screening of the completed films, followed by jury feedback, awards, and popcorn.
Who Can Participate?
No prior experience is required. Whether you are a writer, actor, director, editor, cinematographer, musician, or simply passionate about storytelling, you are welcome to participate. Bring your ideas, collaborate with fellow creators, and experience the excitement of making a film under time constraints.
Recognition & Prize
The winning team will receive a cash prize and recognition from the judges for their creative work and filmmaking efforts.
