Langtang Lirung in Nepal has witnessed two devastating moments, eleven years apart.
In 2015, an earthquake-triggered avalanche devastated Langtang.
In August 2026, the collapse of glacier and bedrock near the same mountain triggered another catastrophic chain of events.
And that is why we feel it is important to watch Trembling Mountain by Kesang Tseten at this moment.
Let’s look at the Himalayas as a living, fragile landscape, and at the communities whose lives, homes and livelihoods are deeply tied to it. The film takes us on a journey towards understanding just how vulnerable Himalayan communities can be.
